Dr. Practice Philosophy |
Dr. Morrell enjoys the field of general surgery, which offers him the opportunity to use medical knowledge and his hands to help others. He finds the current advances in minimal access surgery and the potential for gene therapy exciting and challenging. He feels that the careful and timely implementation of new advances is essential to ensuring patients the best care available.
Surgery is often necessary to cure disease and correct problems. Decisions for elective surgery should, however, be made by the patient (with his best interest in mind) after consideration of the possible options are carefully reviewed. Patients and family should have an active role in all decisions. In the end, few things are more satisfying and gratifying than to see a sick and miserable patient well and happy after successful surgery.
