Tanner Clinic provides on-site laboratory services to help your doctor rapidly and accurately determine your health care needs. Our main lab in Layton provides comprehensive services in which 95% of the clinic's testing is done on-site. Whereas our smaller satellite lab in Kaysville is limited to collection of specimens and performing urgent tests such as blood counts, cultures, and urine tests. The lab is staffed by our highly trained lab scientists, most with Bachelors Degrees in Laboratory Science.
Our lab maintains unsurpassed quality and performance standards and exceeded the 99th percentile on its most recent government inspections.
Rapid availability of test results is an invaluable benefit for Tanner Clinic patients. When needed, many critical tests can be processed immediately in the clinic lab to expedite diagnosis and treatment of acutely ill patients. This may bypass several days of waiting should the same test require processing at an outside lab.
Bacteriology, chemistry, hematology, immunology, urine testing, and coagulation testing are all done on-site.
With equipment such as our new state-of-the-art chemistry analyzer , Tanner Clinic is dedicated to providing our patients with the most cost efficient but comprehensive labs services feasible.
Q1. Why can't I just go to the lab to have a test done without seeing a doctor?
A1. Each test requires a physician's order to assure appropriate tests are done under the appropriate circumstances. This helps avoid wasteful testing and assures that there is a single provider ultimately responsible to follow-up on these test results.
Q2. How do I get results of tests my doctor ran on me?
A2. Each doctor has a little different approach to this concern. Your doctor is obligated to contact you with information which is of a critical nature. However, if your doctor were to make a phone call for every normal lab and test result obtained each day, he/she would have no time to see patients. If your provider has not made clear to you what his/her preference is on follow-up, give the office a call several days after the tests were done to check on results. DO NOT CALL THE LAB OR X-RAY DEPARTMENT FOR RESULTS BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO GIVE OUT THIS INFORMATION.
