Dr. Mike joined his brother Dr. Mark Kirkham at the Tanner Clinic in 1996. They are both board-certified Family Physicians practicing in the Kaysville Clinic where they provide comprehensive medical care to all age groups. Dr. Mike's specialty training in pediatric and adult medicine makes him a perfect choice for families seeking a physician to care for all their family's needs.
He enjoys a busy pediatric practice providing newborn care including circumcisions, well child care including immunizations and developmental screening, acute care including cuts and broken bones, and enjoys helping teens through the turmoil of acne, puberty, and the other challenges of adolescence. His gentle approach and witty sense of humor helps put patients of all ages at ease and seldom does a patient leave without having a few giggles. His broad based training and experience in adult medicine stems back to his early years as a physician in the armed forces. He deployed to a humanitarian mission to the jungles of Thailand, was a member of a small eight person team in Korea scouting out acceptable MASH unit sites near the DMZ, served as an embassy physician at the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo, and spent 7 years caring for military members and their families in Asia and the U.S.. He is extremely conscientious and thorough in his approach to diagnosing and treating childhood and adult illnesses, but also emphasizes health screening, risk assessment, and preventive medicine as key to keeping his patients healthy from birth, through childhood, and beyond. His training in Women's Health makes him a logical choice for women seeking a caring primary care physician. While he no longer delivers babies, he continues to provide health screening services such as breast cancer screening, pap smears, and is the Tanner Clinic's expert on the diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis (softening of the bones). He offers contraception counseling/services and is experienced in the management of menstrual disorders. Back to Top
