Family physicians combine warm, personal caring with broad, continuous training. They are specially trained to promote health, to diagnose and treat most of your problems, and to refer to other specialists when necessary.

Each of our Family Physicians have specialty training in pediatric and adult medicine providing them broad-based experience enabling them to provide exceptional care to both sexes in all age groups. Each provides excellent newborn care, well child care, women's care including health maintenance and gynecologic services, adult health care, minor surgery, and emergency services. (Links to other Family Practice services: Allergies, Arthritis, Birth Control, Blood Pressure, Children's Services, Geriatrics, FAA Flight Physicals, Health Maintenance and Disease Prevention, Mental Health, Osteoporosis, Sports Medicine, Weight Loss, and Women's Health.)

Family physicians focus on the whole person and the entire family.

You are more than a collection of body parts or organ systems. Family physicians evaluate and treat you as a whole person, taking into account all the factors that can affect your health and well-being -- genetics, family history, diet, prevention, mental health, chronic disease-management -- every aspect of health.

Family physicians take care of you as a whole person -- they take time with you and listen to you, not just to treat you when you're sick, but to prevent illness and keep you healthy.

Family physicians have a central and essential role in today's health care system. They coordinate the care of their patients, helping them navigate a complex system and leading a team of health and medical professionals.

Patients make 186 million office visits to family physicians each year -- 83 million more visits than to any other specialty. And because of their unique focus on primary care and prevention, family physicians are leaders in the comprehensive approach to medical care.
